SOME OF THE INGREDIENTS USED BY THE BLUE MOONSTONE
Prunus amygdalus (sweet almond oil)
A classic, mild semi-fatty oil, which spreads nicely and makes the skin soft smooth and supple.
Aqua (spring water)
Carthamus tinctorius (thistle oil) A dry, to very dry thin oil. An excellent source of Essential Fatty Acids
(Vitamin F and Omega 3and 6) as they make up 80% of the oil content. Good for oily skin, large pores and all skin
conditions.
Sodium stearoyl lactyate (emulsifier) A vegetable based emulsifier for creams and lotions. Derived from lactic acid and
vegetable based stearic acid. This emulsifier is used in the Scandinavian food industry in the making of vegan ice cream.
Glyceryl stearate (emulsifier) A vegetable based emulsifier for creams and lotions, which is produced from coconut oil and
palm kernel oil. Also used in the making of Scandinavian ice cream which goes to show how safe these emulsifiers are as they are both edible.
Glycerine (glycerine) Used to retain moisture and as a softening agent. We use only kosher and vegetable
glycerine. 99% vegetable based moisturiser.
Cetyl alcohol (cetyl alcohol) Made from palm kernel oil fatty acid (palmatic oil). It makes creams and lotions firmer
and gives them consistency. Tocopherol (vitamin E) This is a classic antoxidant, which protects against the destruction of the connective tissue caused by free radicals. Tocopherol is added to help
preserve the product and also acts as an antoxidant on the skin and is also used in the food industry.
Benzyl alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium sorbate (preservative)
This is the most natural preservative used by green companies world-wide.
